This website serves as our public declaration of ideas, beliefs, strategies for affecting political change in our Northwest region in Chuuk State. These ideas are meant to result in actions either by demanding our current political leaders to focus on them or by declaring our own candidacy to lead them to fruition. We can no longer stand idly by while those who wish to enter politics continue to lead us nowhere. We must demand leadership based on solid ideas and visions.
RHUULAP (UNITE): Rhuulap Northwest 2013 is both our motto and our mission. We must work together to re-unify the people of the Northwest district. We have long been divided by politics. Our state, municipal, and national leaders must show the example of a unified voice for the Northwest by joining our coalition. We must now work together to create peace, justice, and prosperity in our islands. We must hear all voices, respect all needs, and expect more out of all of us to work for the common good rather than the individually-focused projects that have robbed resources from our schools, our dispensaries, and our youth.
CHANGE: We must raise the winds of change for our people in Namonweito, Pafeng, me Pattiw. Our people face a rapidly changing world with immense challenges. Our schools continue to deteriorate. Politics has divided our families and clans. Our faith in God seems to have no influence on our political leadership. Our elected leaders get rich while our people continue to suffer from lack of opportunities. Our youth have not been inspired to be active participants in affecting change. Sons and daughters of the Northwest living overseas have not been empowered to use their talents and skills to help our islands.
NEW SOLUTIONS: Recycled politics is no longer enough in an ever changing and advanced world. We must demand new and creative solutions to our same old problems. While we value our traditions and cultures, we can no longer tolerate the “same old” corrupt and ineffective leadership that has led us to nowhere. While we value the wisdom of our elders, we also value the synergy of the new generation for innovative approaches to improving our islands in a highly advanced world.
ACTIVE PARTICIPATION: I invite fellow citizens of the Pattiw, Pafeng, and Namonweito regions to help in raising the winds of change, to mobilize our voices, to dream with us for progress and justice, to create a new vision for solving the problems facing our people. We must organize our voices and our ideas. Let us put our heads together and find solutions to the needs in our islands. You can start by participating in any of our community organizing efforts.
